Slipper Socks | Free Knitting Pattern

These slouchy slipper-like socks are designed with the beginner in mind. They’re easily customizable and feature a rounded toe, no heel, and cuff-to-toe construction. These socks are perfect for wearing around the house on chilly days!

Materials

  • 100-150 grams of any worsted/heavy worsted weight yarn

  • Size 8(5.0 mm) needles suitable for the method of your choice

  • Scissors and yarn needle

  • Ruler to check gauge

  • Stitch markers (optional)

Gauge

In order to ensure that the socks will fit their intended recipient, I suggest checking gauge.

16 stitches and 24 rounds = 4 inches in stockinette stitch worked in the round

Abbreviations

CO: cast on

k: knit

p: purl

ea: each

n1: needle 1 (or the first ½ of the sts)

n2: needle 2 (or the second ½ of the sts)

k2tog: knit two stitches together

st(s): stitch(es)

*...*: repeat the instructions in the asterisks

Sizing Notes

  • This ruler is so helpful for making socks fit any size foot.

  • This pattern is written for sizes small(medium, large) and are designed to fit a 7(8, 9) inch foot circumference. These are also designed to have at least one inch of positive ease, so the finished circumference for each size is 8(9, 10) inches around. Choose whichever size suits your negative/positive ease preferences.

Pattern Notes

  • Find the yarn used for this pattern here.

  • I recommend using the magic loop technique for these socks, but feel free to use whichever method suits you.

  • This pattern does not include instructions for a heel, since these are meant to be slouchy tube socks. However, feel free to add in your favorite heal if desired.
