This crocheted cardigan is the coziest garment ever and so fun to make!
Materials
5(6, 7, 8, 9) balls of Hobbii Honey Bunny, or approximately 650(780, 910, 1040, 1170) yards or 500(600, 700, 800, 900) grams of another comparable super bulky weight yarn. Sample uses Honey Bunny in color #122
10.00 mm crochet hook
Scissors and yarn needle for finishing
Gauge
7 stitches by 4 rows = 4 inches in double crochet worked flat
Abbreviations
ch: chain
dc: double crochet
sc: single crochet
ea: each
st(s): stitch(es)
sl st: slip stitch
rem: remaining
*...*: repeat the instructions in the asterisks

Choosing Your Size
This oversized cardigan is written in five sizes, distributed as XS(S, M, L, XL). Each size is designed to fit bust sizes 28-36(36-44, 44-52, 52-60, 60-68) inches, with 6-14 inches of positive ease per size. The finished bust measurements are 42 (50, 58, 66, 74) inches. I recommend choosing the size that best suits your negative/positive ease preferences. Sample pictured is XS on a 31” bust.

Back Panel
ch 39(46, 53, 60, 67)
Row 1: dc in the third ch from the hook, and in ea ch across.
Row 2: ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across
Row 3: ch 1 and turn. dc in ea st across
Rows 4-29: repeat rows 2-3
Work less/more repeats for a shorter/longer cardigan. End on a Row 3 repeat.
Final Row: ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across.
Proceed to Right Front Panel Instructions
Right Front Panel
Setup Row: ch 2 and turn. dc in ea st across until you have worked a total of 17(20, 24, 27, 30) sts. Leave the rem sts unworked.
Row 1: ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across.
Row 2: ch 2 and turn. dc in ea st across.
Rows 3-30: repeat rows 1-2
If you decreased/increased the length of the back panel, be sure to do the same for the front panels. Always exclude the setup row in counting.
FO, and proceed to Left Front Panel Instructions
Left Front Panel
Hold the cardigan so the right front panel is on your right, facing you. Skip 3(4, 3, 4, 5) sts starting after the last st you worked on the first row of the right front panel, then join yarn to the next st on the back panel.
Setup Row: ch 2. dc in ea st across until you have worked a total of 17(20, 24, 27, 30) sts. Leave the rem sts unworked.
Row 1: ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across.
Row 2: ch 2 and turn. dc in ea st across.
Rows 3-30: repeat rows 1-2
If you decreased/increased the length of the back panel, be sure to do the same for the front panels. Always exclude the setup row in counting.
FO, and proceed to Seaming Instructions
Seaming
Feel free to substitute your preferred seaming method for this technique.
Fold the cardigan so that the front panels are on top of the back panel.
Using the mattress stitch, seam up one side of the cardigan until 6(7, 8, 9, 10) inches remain. Secure the tail, then repeat these instructions for the opposite side of the cardigan.
Border
The border addition is completely optional, but provides a clean finish.
Join the yarn to any st along the bottom of the back panel.
Round 1: place 1 sc st in ea st along the bottom of the front/back panels, and sc evenly up and around the front collar. I recommend placing one st per sc row, and two sts per dc row. Place 3 sc sts in ea corner. slst to the first sc st.
FO, weave in any ends, and proceed to Sleeve Instructions
Sleeves
Join the yarn to any st along either armhole.
Round 1: ch 2, and dc evenly around the armhole. End with a stitch count divisible by three.
Round 2: ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st around. slst to the first st.
Round 3: ch 2 and turn. dc in ea st around. slst to the first st.
Repeat Rounds 2-3 until the sleeve is your desired length.
Decrease Round: ch 1 and turn. *sc in the next st, sc2tog* around. slst to the first st.
Next Round: ch 1, sc in ea st around. slst to the first st.
Final Round (optional): slst loosely in ea st around.
Repeat these instructions for Sleeve 2, then proceed to Finishing Instructions
Finishing
Weave in any ends you may have remaining. If you decide to block your cardigan, I recommend pinning it out on blocking mats gently, spritz with water, and either steam block or let air dry. The sample pictured is not blocked.
