Materials
4 Hobbii Friends 8/8 color packs, or 2000 total grams of any dk/light worsted weight yarn. Sample uses color packs 01, 14, 15, and 19
5.0 mm crochet hook
Scissors and yarn needle
Gauge
4 sts and 4 rows = 1 inch in single crochet worked flat

The ch 1/ch 2/slst at the beginning of each round does NOT count as stitch.
When finished, this blanket measures 55” square.
This pattern is written to use multiple colors, as referenced by C1/2/3/4/5/6, but feel free to omit this and use as many or as few colors as you’d like.
The sample pictured features each color for one section in each square. This video explains more if needed!
Construction
This throw is made by crocheting 36 motifs then seaming them together to form a large square. You will then add a border.
Motif
Make 36 total squares.
Make a magic ring OR ch 3 and slst to the first st to form a ring.
Round 1(C1): ch 2, dc 8 sts into ring. slst to first st.
Round 2(C2): ch 2, *dc in the next st, [dc 2, ch 2, dc 2] in next st* four times. slst to the first st.
Round 3(C2): ch 2, *dc 3 in the next st, ch 1, sk 1, [dc 2, ch 2, dc 2] in the ch 2 sp, sk 1* four times. slst to the first st.
Rounds 4-5(C3): slst in ea st until the next ch 1 sp, *dc 3 in ea ch 1 sp, [dc 2, ch 2, dc 2] in ea ch 2 space* around. slst to the first st.
Rounds 6-7(C4): slst in ea st until the next ch 1 sp, *dc 3 in ea ch 1 sp, [dc 2, ch 2, dc 2] in ea ch 2 space* around. slst to the first st.
Rounds 8(C5): slst in ea st until the next ch 1 sp, *dc 3 in ea ch 1 sp, [dc 2, ch 2, dc 2] in ea ch 2 space* around. slst to the first st.
Round 9(C6):ch 1, sc in ea st and ch around, placing 3 sc st in ea corner. slst to the first st and FO.
Seaming
Feel free to substitute your preferred seaming method for this technique.
This throw uses the whip stitch to seam the squares together. I recommend lying all the squares on a flat surface, and connecting all squares by seaming the columns and rows.
Border
The border addition is completely optional, but provides a clean finish. Sample used the two white skeins from the 15 color pack and the one white skein from the 01 color pack for the border and seaming.
Round 1: ch 1, sc in ea st around the blanket. place 3 sc sts in ea corner. slst
Round 2: ch1, *sk 1, [sc, dc, sc] in the next st* around. slst to the first st and FO.
Finishing
Weave in any ends you may have remaining. If you decide to block your throw, I recommend laying it flat, spritz it with water, and let air dry or steam lightly. The sample pictured isn’t blocked.
