Petal Dishcloth | Free Crochet Pattern


This dishcloth features two or more colors and such a fun stitch pattern!



Materials

  • 35 yards/20 grams each of any two colors of dk/worsted weight yarn.

  • 4.5mm crochet hook

  • Scissors and a yarn needle

Gauge

4 stitches and 4 rows = 1 inch in single crochet worked flat


Abbreviations

ch: chain

sc: single crochet

pst: petal stitch

rem: remaining

sk: skip

sp: space

ea: each

*...*: repeat the instructions in the asterisks

st(s): stitch(es)


Pattern Notes

  • Find the yarn featured in this pattern here. (closer to worsted than DK)

  • When finished, this dishcloth measures 7” inches square.

  • If you’d like to modify the size of your dishcloth, simply chain any multiple of six.

ch 24

Row 1 (MC)

sc in the second ch from the hook, and in ea st across.

Rows 2-4 (MC)

ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across

Row 5 (CC)

ch 1 and turn. *sc in ea of the next 5 sts, pst* until five sts rem, sc in the next 5 sts.

Rows 6-8 (CC)

ch and turn. sc in ea st across.

Row 9 (MC)

ch 1 and turn. sc in the next 2 sts, pst, *sc 5, pst* until two sts rem, sc in the last 2 sts

Rows 10-12 (MC)

ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across.


Repeat Rows 5-12 two more times, for a total of 3 ½ repeats.

Border (CC)

sc around the perimeter of the dishcloth, placing one sc st in ea st/row, and 3 sts in ea corner. slst to the first st to join. FO


Finishing

Pull through the last st, cut yarn, and weave in any ends.
