Pine Throw | Free Crochet Pattern

This throw is the coziest addition to any holiday decor. It’ll look gorgeous draped over a couch or ottoman, but it is also the best blanket to snuggle under with a good movie!



Materials

  • 13 balls of Berroco Comfort in the colorway 9743, or approximately 2730 yards of any worsted weight yarn

  • 8.00mm crochet hook

  • Scissors and a yarn needle

Gauge

6 stitches and 5 rows = 2 inches in single crochet worked flat


Abbreviations

ch: chain

sc: single crochet

rem: remaining

sk: skip

sp: space

ea: each

[...]: work instructions in bracket into the same stitch

*...*: repeat the instructions in the asterisks

st(s): stitch(es)


Pattern Notes

  • Find the yarn featured in this pattern here.

  • This throw is worked flat, so be sure to turn your work after each row.

  • When finished, this throw measures 50” inches square.

  • If you’d like to modify the size of your throw, simply chain any multiple of three and work Row 2 until the throw is square.



Pattern

ch 150

Row 1

sc in the second ch from the hook, sk 1, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the next st, *sk 2, [sc, ch 2, sc] in the next st* until 2 sts rem, sk 1, sc in the last st.

Rows 2-150

ch 1 and turn. sc in the first st, [sc, ch 2, sc] in ea ch 2 sp across, sc in the last st.

Border Round 1

ch 1 and turn. sc in ea st across, skipping the ch 2 spaces, then sc evenly around the rest of the throw. Aim to place the same number of sts on ea side. Work 3 sts in ea corner. slst to the first st.

Border Rounds 2 and 3

ch 1, sc in ea st around. Place 3 sts in ea center corner st.


Finishing

Pull through the last st, cut yarn, and weave in any ends.
