This dishcloth features the same squishy texture as my previously published Devoted Beanie, and it is so fun to work up. Grab some cotton yarn and needles, and make dish-washing a little better!
Materials
25 grams or 50 yards of any worsted weight cotton yarn. Samples use KnitPicks Dishie.
4.5 mm knitting needles
Scissors and a yarn needle
Gauge
It is not necessary to achieve a certain gauge for this dishcloth, but if you would like the same dimensions as the sample I suggest checking.
4 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in pattern

CO: cast on
k: knit
p: purl
rem: remain
st(s): stitch(es)

This dishcloth is worked in rows. Be sure to turn your work after completing each row.
When finished and worked to pattern, this dishcloth measures 7 inches square.
To alter the width of this dishcloth, simply cast on in multiples of four, plus two. Adjust the length by decreasing/increasing the amount of repeats in the pattern.

Row 1
*k2, p2* until two sts rem, k2
Row 2
*p2, k2* until two sts rem, p2
Row 3
*p2, k2* until two sts rem, p2
Row 4
*k2, p2* until two sts rem, k2
Repeat Rows 1-4 eleven more times, for a total of twelve repeats. Finally, work Rows 1-2 once more.
Bind off all sts
Finishing
Cut yarn, and weave in any ends.
Dishcloths aren’t typically in need of blocking, but feel free to do so. If you chose a 100% cotton yarn, I recommend simply washing these dishcloths in the washer and dryer just like clothes. They will last for years to come!
