Devoted Dishcloth | Free Knit Pattern

This dishcloth features the same squishy texture as my previously published Devoted Beanie, and it is so fun to work up. Grab some cotton yarn and needles, and make dish-washing a little better!

Materials

  • 25 grams or 50 yards of any worsted weight cotton yarn. Samples use KnitPicks Dishie.

  • 4.5 mm knitting needles

  • Scissors and a yarn needle

Gauge

It is not necessary to achieve a certain gauge for this dishcloth, but if you would like the same dimensions as the sample I suggest checking.

4 stitches and 7 rows = 1 inch in pattern

Abbreviations

CO: cast on

k: knit

p: purl

rem: remain

st(s): stitch(es)

Pattern Notes

  • Find the yarn featured in this pattern here.

  • This dishcloth is worked in rows. Be sure to turn your work after completing each row.

  • When finished and worked to pattern, this dishcloth measures 7 inches square.

  • To alter the width of this dishcloth, simply cast on in multiples of four, plus two. Adjust the length by decreasing/increasing the amount of repeats in the pattern.

Finishing

Cut yarn, and weave in any ends.

Dishcloths aren’t typically in need of blocking, but feel free to do so. If you chose a 100% cotton yarn, I recommend simply washing these dishcloths in the washer and dryer just like clothes. They will last for years to come!
